There are over half a million stray or homeless cats in New York City. These cats are subject to danger and disease on the streets. Cat rescuers participate in Trap Neuter Release (TNR) to help bring those numbers down, even though there is a lack of resources, support, and affordable spay-neuter appointments. Not a Single Cat is an audio documentary featuring the stories of two cat rescuers who continue rescuing even through burnout. Fueled by pure dedication and love for cats, Mia and Sonia reckon with the root of the cat overpopulation problem and their own motivation to keep going.

Featuring Sonia Leahey of Sunset Park Cats, Mia Cvetovich of Ocean Hill Cats, and Alexcia Hernandez of Ocean Hill Cats.

Community Voices at Bush Terminal Piers Park

interactive map experience

This interactive mapping project resurfaces the history of Bush Terminal’s land use in Sunset Park while highlighting community stories in the present day. Instead of markers signifying businesses or establishments, the markers here highlight people and their connection with Bush Terminal, as well as archival images, advertisements,  and newspaper clippings. Each video interview touches upon a different facet of the Bush Terminal story and displays a diverse perspective of the people’s relationship to the waterfront’s history, present, and future.
